Pokemon: Torterra, the Unrivaled 7-Star Tera Raid Battle Event
The Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raid battles have brought exciting challenges for players, featuring iconic Pokémon from previous generations. This November, trainers will face off against the ultimate challenge in a seven-star Tera Raid featuring Torterra the Unrivaled, marking the end of the era of Starter Pokémon in these special events. Here's everything you need to know about the event, how to prepare for it, and what rewards await.
Event Dates
Torterra will appear in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Seven-Star Tera Raids from November 15, 2024 (00:00 UTC) until November 17, 2024 (23:59 UTC)! It gives trainers a limited window to challenge and catch this legendary Grass/Ground-type Pokémon. Round 2 will then run on November 22, 2024 (00:00 UTC) until November 24, 2024 (23:59 UTC)! For those who miss the initial round, fear not—there will be a second chance.
How to Unlock the Seven-Star Tera Raid Battles
The Seven-Star Tera Raid battle against Torterra will take place in Paldea, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's main region. To participate in the Seven-Star Torterra Tera Raid, you'll need to have access to 6-Star Tera Raid Battles. To unlock this feature, complete the Academy Ace Tournament in the main story, then complete 8 to 10 4-Star or 5-Star raids. Once you've reached this milestone, you'll receive a call from Jacq, signaling that you are ready to take on the toughest of Tera Raid challenges.
The Mightiest Mark and the Ground Tera Type
Torterra, the powerful Continent Pokémon, will be a formidable adversary with a Tera-Ground type. Those who successfully defeat this colossal foe will be rewarded with a Torterra carrying the Mightiest Mark, a prestigious symbol of victory in the Tera Raid battles. However, note that Torterra with the Mightiest Mark can only be caught once per player, though the event offers additional rewards for those who wish to continue challenging the raid.
Torterra's Strengths and Battle Strategy
Torterra is not just any ordinary Pokémon; it's a powerhouse with high health, solid attack and defense stats, and a fearsome moveset. With moves like Earthquake, Wood Hammer, and Heavy Slam, Torterra can deal significant damage to most opponents, making it a challenging foe in the Seven-Star Tera Raids. Torterra will also come equipped with its Hidden Ability, Shell Armor, which prevents critical hits, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the battle.
To counter Torterra's strength, trainers will need to carefully select their battle-ready Pokémon. Grass-type Pokémon like Serperior or Appletun could be key to surviving Torterra's Ground-type moves. While Flying-type Pokémon are immune to moves like Earthquake, Torterra will counter with Rock-type attacks like Stone Edge, so trainers should prepare accordingly.
Rewards for Defeating Torterra
Aside from the chance to catch a Ground Tera-type Torterra with the Mightiest Mark, players will receive additional valuable rewards for defeating this raid boss. These may include various battle items and treasures, which can be used to improve your Pokémon's stats or sold for in-game currency to further enhance your team. These rewards provide an excellent opportunity for players looking to strengthen their Pokémon or bolster their item inventory.
