Both Pokemon BDSP and Arceus will be added to Pokémon Home 2.0
Pokémon Home, the series' storage app for Switch and phones, will soon add support for new versions of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl (BDSP).
The 2.0 update is scheduled to arrive "soon". As an added bonus, players who link Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus to their Pokemon Home account will get some special free Pokemon.
The Pokemon Home service is available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, each with different features and capabilities. An annual subscription costs $16. The service also offers a free plan, albeit with limited storage capacity.
It sounds like Arceus' story and mechanics bring some workarounds to the normal Home formula - as already supported in Pokémon Sword/Shield, Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, and Pokémon Go.
Since Arceus takes place in the past, before many Pokémon ball types existed, any Pokémon transferred from home into the game would sit in a "strange ball". Instead, Pokémon from Arceus will be transferred into a regular Pokémon ball.
Some other warnings from The Pokémon Company: "Special Pokémon that can only be captured once during regular gameplay can only be deposited once per save data to Pokémon Home," it says of Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl.
As for Arceus: "The goal of Pokémon Legends: Arceus is to help compile the first Pokédex in the Hisui region. As such, Pokémon Home's National Pokédex updates its Pokédex entry save data based on the Pokémon you've completed in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
"If your Pokédex entry in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is incomplete, you won't be able to see that Pokémon entry in Pokémon Home."
Finally, associating each game - Arceus, BDSP - with the home will spawn a Pokémon as a reward through the Mystery Gift feature (one of the starting creatures in each game with the maximum effort level or hidden ability).
When we have a release date for the Pokémon Home update, we'll do it, which will bring the service up to version 2.0. Adding Pokémon Home support feels long overdue, and hopefully, there won't be more waiting for it to be included, although no specific date has been set. Fans who missed out on Pokémon BDSP's Darkrai event will soon be able to swap one from another, removing some of the fear of missing out. This will also give fans a chance to fill in the missing entries in their Pokédex while waiting for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to launch.
Both BDSP and Arceus have their own loyal fans, which is good news for them because they can exchange Pokémon in Pokémon Home. But if you feel troublesome or can't wait to get BDSP and Arceus Shiny Pokémon, you can Buy BDSP Pokemon at PKMBuy. There are also Held Items for SWSH and BDSP, and Alpha Pokémon for Arceus.
